Our Story
For Megan, it was "Zoom Crush" at first sight. Luckily for both of us, we had the matchmaking prowess of a mutual friend who saw potential sparks between two people who had missed their virtual connection during a professional development meeting in the summer of 2020. Little did we know, our modern day “blind” date would turn into the best love and partnership.
On our first date, in true Megan fashion, she couldn't resist the opportunity to sneakily pay the bill while Anthony used the restroom. This not only guaranteed at least a second date, but it truly showed him what he was getting himself into! As the days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, our connection deepened, jokes were cracked, and love blossomed. No, seriously, Anthony’s first real trick was telling Megan, after she spent the day, frantically and unsuccessfully, trying to book her first round of COVID vaccines, that he wouldn’t be able to see her until she was fully vaccinated…hilarious to think that she almost fell for it back then.
Megan knew Anthony was something special, but her feelings were validated when the evening before her first “Murph” CrossFit workout in May 2021, Anthony caught her by surprise by saying “Good luck and I love you.”
Our love story, however, wasn't confined to the familiar surroundings of home. We raced through airports, waited for delayed flights, survived certifiably insane Uber drivers together in our various weekends away in Portsmouth, Nashville, DC, Charleston, Florida, and New York. Every journey brought us closer together, creating a treasury of shared memories.
And then came the moment that would forever be etched in the narrative of us. Convincing Megan to walk to Marina Bay for dinner on a 50 degree, drizzly June evening, Anthony dropped to one knee, with a photographer at the ready, and “brought some sunshine to a rainy day.” Even the torrential downpour couldn’t mask the tears on Megan’s face, and the pink raincoat pictures will always be a fond, comical memory for both of us.
Our story is a testament to the power of chance and the beauty of shared laughter. We are so excited to celebrate with our families and friends as we step into the next chapter of our lives together. Hope you’re all ready for some “Shirts Off” fun (after 9:30)!
